Hello Customer vs Lumoa: An Honest Comparison Now That Lumoa Is Netigate Insights

Anna Pogrebniak 15 min read

If you are comparing Hello Customer and Lumoa in 2026, there is one fact you need before any feature table makes sense: standalone Lumoa no longer exists. The Finnish AI feedback-analysis platform was acquired by Netigate, a Swedish survey and experience management vendor, in March 2024. The lumoa.me website has been folded into netigate.net, and the technology now lives on as the Insights capability inside Netigate Group. So this comparison is really Hello Customer vs Netigate Insights, and the short answer is this: if you loved what Lumoa stood for, an AI-first analysis layer that reads every piece of feedback wherever it comes from, we are the closest thing to that promise still shipping as an independent product. If what you actually want is a full survey suite and an analysis module from a single Swedish vendor, following the merger is a perfectly sensible choice.

That is the honest framing, and the rest of this article fills in the detail: what happened to Lumoa, where our philosophies overlap, where they differ, and who should pick which. We have also written a broader round-up of Lumoa alternatives if you want to compare more than two options.

What happened to Lumoa

Lumoa was founded in Helsinki and built a well-earned reputation as one of Europe's most forward-thinking feedback analytics companies. It was among the first customer experience platforms to ship generative AI features, experimenting early with what its team called the GPT of CX, and its core idea was ahead of its time: pull feedback in from every source you already have, let AI find the topics and the sentiment, and make the insight available to everyone in the company, not just a research team.

In March 2024, Netigate announced it had acquired Lumoa. Netigate is a Stockholm-headquartered experience management vendor, backed by GRO Capital since 2022, with offices across Northern and Central Europe. The combined business counts more than 1,500 customers, including names like Santander, Circle K and Spotify. The stated rationale was straightforward: Netigate brought established feedback collection, Lumoa brought advanced AI analysis, and together they would cover the whole chain. Netigate has kept buying: in September 2025 it added Mopinion, the Rotterdam digital feedback specialist, its second feedback acquisition in eighteen months.

Since then the integration has completed. The lumoa.me domain now redirects to a Netigate page explaining that Lumoa's platform has been renamed Netigate Insights, and that the old website can no longer be accessed. Netigate positions the combined offering as experience management across customer, employee and digital experience, with the former Lumoa engine powering the analysis layer, as EU-Startups reported at the time of the deal.

Let us be fair about what this means. For teams that wanted surveys, employee feedback and analysis from one European vendor, the merger is an upgrade: the suite Lumoa never had now exists around it. But for the teams that chose Lumoa precisely because it was a light, independent, analysis-first layer on top of their existing stack, it is a fork in the road. The product they evaluated is now a module inside a larger platform, the roadmap answers to suite priorities, and renewals arrive on the acquirer's paper. Neither of those outcomes is bad. They are simply different products for different buyers, which is exactly why this comparison is worth reading.

Who each platform is for

Hello Customer is for customer experience and insights teams that care most about what customers actually say, and about doing something with it. Our platform is built around ISAAC, our AI engine that classifies every open answer by topic and by sentiment per topic, and around the workflows that turn those insights into action: key driver analysis, close-the-loop follow-up, detractor alerts and CX benchmarking. You get collection built in when you need it, and ingestion of the sources you already have when you do not.

Netigate Insights is for organisations that want breadth. If your roadmap includes employee engagement surveys, market research style questionnaires and customer feedback analysis under one contract with one European vendor, the merged Netigate offering was assembled for exactly that. The analysis engine inside it is the genuine Lumoa technology, which was and remains good.

The buyer who has lost an option is the original Lumoa buyer: the team that wanted only the analysis layer, independent of any survey suite, from a vendor whose entire company depended on that layer being excellent. That is the gap we aim to fill, and it is worth saying plainly that we consider it a compliment to Lumoa that its former customers are the most demanding evaluators we meet.

AI analysis quality: a shared philosophy, different owners

Here is where we should be generous, because it is true: Lumoa believed almost exactly what we believe. Feedback analysis should be automatic, it should work in the customer's own language, and the results should be usable by everyone in the organisation rather than locked inside a research function. Lumoa pioneered parts of that vision, and reviewers on G2 consistently praised how it brought feedback from many sources into one view, alongside a responsive team, even while some noted that analysis accuracy depended on manual model setup and that the early GPT features were still maturing.

Our implementation of the same philosophy is ISAAC. ISAAC reads every open answer and classifies it by topic, then assigns sentiment per topic within the same answer. That last part matters more than it sounds: a customer who writes "delivery was quick but the packaging was damaged" is positive and negative in a single sentence, and averaging that into one score throws the insight away. ISAAC keeps both signals, which is the foundation of reliable sentiment analysis.

ISAAC is also native in dozens of languages. It analyses feedback in the language it was written in rather than translating first, which preserves tone and nuance across multilingual markets. And with Ask ISAAC, anyone on the team can ask a question in plain language and get an answer with the underlying verbatims attached, so the evidence is always one click away. That verbatim-attached design is our answer to a fair criticism of conversational AI in analytics: an answer you cannot trace to real customer words is an answer you cannot take to a board meeting.

Where do we differ from the Lumoa lineage? Focus. The former Lumoa engine now serves customer, employee and digital experience use cases across a suite. ISAAC serves one job: understanding customer feedback better than anything else, and feeding that understanding into action.

From insight to priority: where we press our advantage

Knowing your topics and sentiment is the start, not the finish. The question every CX lead actually faces is which topic to fix first, and gut feel is a poor guide when forty topics are moving at once.

This is why we built key driver analysis into the platform. Impact analysis ranks topics by their effect on the metric you care about, NPS, CSAT or another score, so you can see that, say, waiting time is dragging your score down twice as hard as pricing complaints, even though pricing generates more comments. Volume and impact are different things, and confusing them is the most expensive mistake in feedback programmes.

Lumoa's original product linked topics to score movement as well, and credit where due, it helped popularise the idea in Europe. But prioritisation is where an analysis-first vendor earns its keep, and it is the part of the chain we invest in hardest, because a ranked list of what to fix is the difference between a dashboard and a decision.

Collection built in vs bring your own: you should not have to choose

Lumoa's model was deliberately bring-your-own: it sat on top of whatever collection you already ran. Elegant, but it left customers assembling survey tooling separately. Netigate solves that by wrapping a full survey suite around the engine, at the price of becoming a suite.

We think the honest answer is both, in one lightweight platform. Hello Customer includes collection built in, with surveys designed per touchpoint so you measure the delivery experience at delivery and the support experience after the ticket closes, not everything in one annual questionnaire. And it ingests the sources you already have: public reviews, support conversations and other feedback streams flow into the same ISAAC analysis as your survey answers.

One more thing former Lumoa users should know: we support backfill. You can import your feedback history so your trend lines continue rather than restarting from zero on migration day. Losing three years of trend data is a hidden switching cost, and it is one we remove.

Closing the loop: analysis that ends in action

A topic ranked by impact still is not a saved customer. The final step is the follow-up, and it is where feedback programmes most often stall.

Hello Customer ships close-the-loop workflows and detractor alerts as part of the platform. When an unhappy customer leaves feedback, the right colleague is notified with the context attached, and the follow-up is tracked rather than left to goodwill. Our CX benchmarking then shows how your scores compare, so improvement has a reference point.

This is also where we can put a number on the value. Some of our customers that close the loop on both customer and management levels report minimum 2.3% annual churn decrease and 11% revenue increase. We quote that carefully: it describes customers who operationalised the loop, at both levels, not everyone who bought a licence. But it shows what the full chain, from verbatim to topic to priority to follow-up, is actually for.

European hosting: a tie, and a useful one

If data residency is on your checklist, both options clear it. Netigate is a Stockholm-headquartered European company, and European data handling was part of the merger's stated appeal. Hello Customer is EU-hosted, GDPR compliant and ISO 27001 certified.

We are not going to manufacture a difference here. Both vendors keep your customer data in Europe under European law, and that is good news: it means the tie-breaker is not compliance paperwork but product philosophy. Do you want a suite, or do you want an independent, analysis-first platform? That question, not hosting, should decide this comparison.

Independence as a feature

Here is the argument we would make even if we were not a party to it. If you are buying an analysis layer, the vendor's independence is itself a feature.

Hello Customer remains independent and analysis-first. Our roadmap answers to one constituency: teams that need customer feedback understood and acted on. There is no parent suite whose packaging logic we must serve, no rebrand pending, no migration of your login page to someone else's domain.

Former Lumoa customers do not need this explained in the abstract, because they have lived through one roadmap change already: a rename, a new platform home, new packaging, new priorities. Netigate has handled the transition respectably, and continuity of functionality was clearly a goal. But a promise of continuity is still a change you did not choose. When you pick your next platform, it is reasonable to weigh not just what the product does today but whose strategy decides what it does in three years.

When following the merger is the right call

We promised honesty, so here it is. You should stay with, or choose, Netigate Insights if:

  • You want surveys, employee feedback and customer analysis from one vendor, on one contract, with one support relationship.
  • You value a large, established Swedish vendor with a broad European footprint over a specialist.
  • Your feedback programme is survey-centred and suite consolidation simplifies your stack.
  • You are an existing Lumoa customer, the transition has been smooth for you, and the combined roadmap matches where your programme is heading.

None of those are edge cases. The merger built a real product for a real buyer. If that buyer is you, following the merger is the right decision, and no comparison page should talk you out of it.

Verdict: the analysis-first path forward

Lumoa was a good product with a philosophy we recognise as close to our own: AI-read feedback, native multilingual analysis, insight for everyone. That philosophy did not disappear in the merger, but it did change address. It now lives inside a suite, serving suite priorities.

Hello Customer is where that philosophy still runs the whole company. ISAAC classifies every open answer by topic and sentiment per topic, natively in dozens of languages. Ask ISAAC answers questions with the verbatims attached. Key driver analysis turns topics into priorities, close-the-loop workflows and detractor alerts turn priorities into saved customers, and backfill means your history survives the move. Onboarding takes days, not months, and volume-based pricing means you pay for the feedback you analyse rather than a suite you partly use.

We will also tell you what we are not: Hello Customer is a lightweight CXM and feedback platform with best-in-class text analytics, not a full research suite. If you need survey panels or large-scale market research tooling, a suite vendor serves you better. We would rather you know that on page one than after a demo.

Frequently asked questions

What happened to Lumoa?

Lumoa, the Finnish AI-powered customer feedback analysis platform, was acquired by Netigate in March 2024. Netigate is a Stockholm-based experience management vendor backed by GRO Capital. The lumoa.me website has been retired and now redirects to netigate.net, and Lumoa's platform has been renamed Netigate Insights, operating as the analysis capability of Netigate Group.

Is Lumoa shutting down?

No. Lumoa was not shut down; it was merged. The technology, and much of the team behind it, continues inside Netigate Group as Netigate Insights. Existing customers were transitioned to the Netigate platform. What no longer exists is Lumoa as an independent, standalone analysis product with its own roadmap and brand.

Is Hello Customer a full research suite like Netigate?

No, and we are deliberate about that. Hello Customer is a lightweight CXM and feedback platform with best-in-class text analytics. We do not offer survey panels or broad market research tooling. What we offer is depth on the feedback chain itself: collection per touchpoint, ingestion of existing sources, ISAAC's topic and sentiment analysis, key driver ranking, and close-the-loop workflows.

Can we migrate our Lumoa history to Hello Customer?

Yes. Hello Customer supports backfill and history import, so you can bring your existing feedback data with you and your trend lines continue instead of restarting. Because feedback data lives in your sources, reconnecting reviews, support conversations and survey streams is a light migration, and onboarding typically takes days.

How is Hello Customer priced?

Pricing is volume-based: you pay according to the feedback you analyse rather than per seat or per suite module. That keeps the insight available to everyone in the organisation without a per-user penalty, which is the same insight-for-everyone principle Lumoa's original users valued.

See ISAAC on your own feedback

The fastest way to settle any comparison is not a feature table, it is your own data. Book a demo and bring your own verbatims: a raw export of real customer feedback in the languages your customers actually write. We will run it through ISAAC live, show you the topics, the sentiment per topic and the drivers behind your score, and you can judge the analysis on the only dataset that matters. If a platform will not demo on your data, ask why. We ask for it.

Curious what your own feedback would say?

Surveys, reviews, support tickets and calls in one place, with the open text classified and ranked by impact.
